Maxwell Technologies Named Innovator of the Year by DESIGN & ELEKTRONIK
DESIGN & ELEKTRONIK recognized Maxwell Technologies as Innovator of the Year for the Passive Components category in its annual readers’ choice awards program. Maxwell’s 3.0-volt ultracapacitor cell was selected by over 1,600 readers from a pool of innovative electrical components considered for 2017. DESIGN & ELEKTRONIK is a German news outlet covering electronic devices, product innovations and market views.
Maxwell Technologies a Gold Winner in 2017 PR World Awards
Maxwell Technologies received the Gold Award in the 2017 Public Relations World Awards for the white paper category. Maxwell’s winning paper, How Ultracapacitors Improve Starting Reliability for Truck Fleets, was produced by Maxwell’s marketing communications and engineering teams to address the common challenges truck fleet operators face with current engine start technology and offers an educational overview of ultracapacitor technology as an alternative option for reliable starting. The PR World Awards have been conferred for business achievements to organizations worldwide.
WEKA Media Group Names Maxwell’s 24V ESM a Product of the Year
WEKA Media Group recognized Maxwell’s 24-volt Engine Start Module (ESM) in its 18th annual Products of the Year Awards ("Award Produkt des Jahres”) 2016. WEKA Media Group is a prominent European and German media company that publishes several well-known technical journals and online platforms, including Elektronik Automotive, Markt & Technik, and Power Electronic.
WEKA readers selected the 24-volt ESM from a pool of 111 product nominations. The award recognizes products launched in the previous year in the electronics and automotive electronics industries.
Maxwell Technologies Awarded Year’s Best Innovative Energy Storage Product at 2016 GES Conference in Shenzhen, China
Maxwell was recently named Year’s Best Innovative Energy Storage Product at the 2016 Global Energy Storage (GES) Conference in Shenzhen, China. The award honors companies representing innovative technology and products in solar grid energy storage. Maxwell was recognized for enabling Chinese customers to achieve energy efficiency in solar grid applications with its ultracapacitor cell technology. Maxwell was presented with the award on April 13 and had the additional honor of presenting the keynote speech, "Ultracapacitor Applications in Solar."
Maxwell Wins Santroll Best Supplier Award
In March 2016, Maxwell was honored with the Santroll Best Supplier Award at the Santroll Suppliers Conference in Tianjin, China. The award is given annually to the supplier that demonstrates excellent performance, competitive pricing, stable quality, and prompt customer support.
Maxwell Technologies Awarded the Innovation on Bus Technology Award at the 2016 China Bus Industry Conference
Maxwell Technologies was honored with the Innovation on Bus Technology Award at the 2016 China Bus Industry Conference. The conference was jointly hosted by chinabuses.com and the Chinese Urban Transportation Association in Beijing on December 18, 2015. Maxwell Technologies Awarded the RUSNANOPRIZE 2015 for International Nanotechnology
Maxwell Technologies was awarded the RUSNANOPRIZE 2015 – International Nanotechnology for successful integration and commercialization of nanostructured carbon materials and for achieving commercial success in the industrial production of ultracapacitors. The RUSNANOPRIZE is awarded annually to researchers, scientists and developers that have made scientific-technological discoveries in nanotechnologies and to the companies that are the first to apply the discovery to mass production. Maxwell accepted the award in Moscow in the Frameworks of Open Innovations Forum in October 2015.
Maxwell’s Engine Start Module Wins the Innovative Product Award at 2015 Atlantic Truck Show
Maxwell Technologies’ Engine Start Module (ESM) for large diesel trucks was awarded the Innovative Product Award by the Atlantic Truck Show in the show’s first biennial product awards, created to recognize innovative products in the trucking industry. Maxwell was honored with the award for employing ultracapacitor-based technology to crank and start diesel truck engines and for its success in installing over 5,000 ESMs in medium and heavy duty trucks in North America. The ESM was recognized for its unique ability to eliminate jump-starts, reduce idling, minimize total cost of operation, and provide fleet managers and owner operators with an alternative to the lead-acid battery, which has not been able to keep up with the growing energy demands of today’s trucking industry. Parts for Trucks, Inc., the largest distributor of heavy duty truck and trailer parts in Atlantic Canada and a Maxwell Technologies partner, nominated Maxwell for the award. Nominations were open to exhibiting individuals and businesses at the Atlantic Truck Show held this June in New Brunswick.
Maxwell Technologies Named Most Innovative Energy Storage Technology Provider of the Year
Maxwell was recently named the 2015 Most Innovative Energy Storage Technology Provider of the Year by the Energy Storage Station. Winners of the award were evaluated and selected by the Energy Storage Station Congress host. The award honors innovative technology companies representing advanced solutions and services in grid energy storage. Maxwell was recognized for its ultracapacitor technology and enabling Chinese customers to achieve energy efficiency in grid applications. Maxwell was presented with the award at the 4th China International Energy Storage Station Congress in May, with the additional honor of presenting a keynote speech titled, "Ultracapacitor Grid Applications” for a diverse audience of senior executives and energy storage industry experts.
The Climate Change Business Journal (CCBJ) honored Maxwell with the Business Achievement Award in the Transportation category for innovative ultracapacitor technology applications in energy recuperation for electric rail systems. CCBJ shined the spotlight on two of Maxwell’s 2014 applications, including its project with engineering firm Win Inertia to deploy ultracapacitors at the Cerro Negro, Spain, rail station to recover total energy used by the rail, and for its project with ABB to achieve energy savings using ultracapacitors for the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority light rail system. CCBJ, a business research publication that provides strategic business intelligence to the environmental industry, has honored 50 companies for revenue growth, acquisitions, innovative project designs, technology applications, new practice areas, social contributions and industry leadership in 2014. Final awards were determined by a committee of CCBJ staff and CCBJ editorial advisory board members.

Maxwell Technologies Wins ESNA Innovation Award for Philadelphia Electric Rail Project
Maxwell Technologies, Inc. has won the Energy Storage North America (ESNA) Innovation Awards, which honor energy storage projects in North America that help solve the challenge of creating a stable and dynamic electricity grid. Maxwell’s project to provide ultracapacitors to ABB, the global leader in power and automation solutions, allows Philadelphia-area rail lines to be more energy efficient. The project earned the ESNA Innovation Award in the mobility project category. Determined by a public vote and evaluation by the ESNA Advisory Board, the ESNA Innovation Awards honor the companies unlocking the potential of energy storage to address today’s grid challenges. Winning projects were determined based on customer value proposition and project impact, grid services, financing model, ownership model, safety and security, and technology.
HEAVY DUTY TRUCKING NAMES MAXWELL TECHNOLOGIES' ENGINE START MODULE TO ANNUAL TOP 20 PRODUCTS AWARD
The ESM was chosen as a top product based on Heavy Duty Trucking's editorial coverage from December 2012 through November 2013. Finalists were chosen by a panel of judges, including Heavy Duty Trucking's editors and a panel of fleet executives and motor carrier maintenance experts, based on innovation, ability to address top industry issues and potential to improve a fleet's bottom line.
R&D 100 Awards
The editors of R&D Magazine recognized Maxwell’s Engine Start Module for medium and heavy duty trucks as one of the 100 most technologically significant products introduced into the marketplace in 2012. Since 1963, the R&D 100 Awards have identified revolutionary technologies newly introduced to the market. Winners of the R&D 100 Awards are selected by an independent judging panel and the editors of R&D Magazine. The publication and its online portal serve research scientists, engineers, and other technical staff members at high tech industrial companies and public and private laboratories around the world.
