David J. Schramm
President and Chief Executive Officer
David J. Schramm joined Maxwell as President and CEO, and was appointed a director, in July 2007. Previously, he spent the bulk of his business career in a series of senior management and engineering positions with General Motors. He started his career with the Packard Electric Division of General Motors and held several managerial positions while at Packard Electric in Warren, Ohio. Continuing his tenure with General Motors, Mr. Schramm then spent three years in the United Kingdom where he was the Managing Director for companies in both Ireland and England. Following his time in the United Kingdom, Mr. Schramm was the president and CEO of a wholly owned subsidiary of General Motors based in California, Packard Hughes Interconnect, a manufacturer of highly reliable interconnect components for the aerospace industry. From 2001 to 2006, he was president and chief executive officer of Arrowhead Products Corp., a leading supplier of specialty systems to the aerospace and automotive industries. During his tenure at Arrowhead, Mr. Schramm led the acquisition of operations in Italy, France and Poland, and also opened a facility in South Africa. Just prior to joining Maxwell, he was president and chief executive officer of EADS North America Defense Test and Services, the U.S. subsidiary of the corporate parent of Airbus.

Kevin S. Royal
Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, Treasurer & Secretary
Kevin S. Royal joined Maxwell as Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, Treasurer and Secretary in April 2009. From May 2005 until he joined Maxwell, he was senior vice president and chief financial officer of Blue Coat Systems, Inc., a previously Nasdaq-listed developer and provider of application delivery network technology. From December 1996 until May 2005, he held a series of senior finance positions, culminating with his appointment as vice president and chief financial officer of Novellus Systems, Inc., an S&P 500 company that manufactures, markets and services semiconductor capital equipment. Before he joined Novellus, he spent 10 years with Ernst & Young LLP, where he became a certified public accountant. He also serves as a director of a private company.

Jeremy Cowperthwaite
Vice President and General Manager, Engine Starting Group
Jeremy Cowperthwaite joined Maxwell Technologies as senior director of engineering for ultracapacitor products in 2007, was promoted to vice president of engineering for ultracapacitor products in 2007, and was appointed VP & general manager of the Engine Starting Group in 2013. Previously he had held a series of senior engineering and product development positions with Maxtor Corp., and Quantum Corp. He holds a BS degree in Physics from the University of California at Santa Barbara and an MS in Mechanical Engineering from UC Berkeley.

Michael A. Everett
Vice President of Advanced Power/Energy Development, Chief Technical Officer
Mike Everett joined Maxwell in August 2002, assuming responsibility for Technology Systems, including product assurance and multiple systems engineering groups. In December 2005, he was appointed Chief Technical Officer. Before joining Maxwell, he spent seven years overseeing product development for 3D Systems Inc., a California-based technology company that designs and manufactures three-dimensional imaging systems. Over a 16-year engineering career, Mike has been responsible for all levels of new product development, primarily focused on systems engineering.

Blair Gilgallon
Vice President of Quality & Reliability
Blair Gilgallon joined Maxwell in November of 2009 as Senior Manager of Customer Quality and Reliability and was promoted to his current position in July 2011. Previously he was Director of Quality Assurance and Customer Service for Skyetek, Inc. and was Director of Customer Quality and Failure Analysis for Quantum Corporation in the US and UK. Gilgallon has experience in product delivery and management of hardware platforms, continuous improvement activities and exceeding customer expectations. He holds a Bachelor of Science - Combined Studies majoring in Electro-technology from the University of Paisley, Scotland, and HND Electronics and Electrical Engineering from Bell College of Technology in Scotland.

Sacha Jenny
GM of Maxwell, SA and Vice President of High Tension
Sacha Jenny joined Maxwell SA in 2003 as materials director for the company’s high voltage and ultracapacitor products, and subsequently assumed broader responsibilities as senior director of worldwide supply chain management before being promoted to his current position in July 2009. Immediately prior to joining Maxwell, Jenny directed worldwide operations for Cresco Ti Systems, a manufacturer of medical and dental products, and before that spent six years in a series of management positions with Silicon Graphics Manufacturing SA, a subsidiary of the U.S.-based information technology company. He holds a bachelor’s degree in electronics and electro-mechanics from the Le Locle Engineering School in Switzerland.

Shannon Kehle
Vice President of Human Resources
Shannon Kehle joined Maxwell as vice president, human resources, in September 2011, after spending more than 15 years in a series of senior human resources management positions. Immediately prior to joining Maxwell, she was vice president, human resources at NTN Buzztime, Inc., a publicly traded provider of social interactive entertainment. Previously, she served in human resources leadership roles with several other companies, including Advanced Marketing Services, Inc., and Wyndam Hotel and Resorts. Shannon holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a human resource concentration from California State University, Fullerton, and is active in several human resources professional organizations. She is a certified coach through ICF at the ACC level.

Larry L. Longden
Vice President & General Manager, Microelectronics Products
Larry Longden was appointed Vice President & General Manager of Maxwell’s Microelectronics product group in August 2008. During his 34 year career at Maxwell, he has held a series of senior management positions in business areas focused on products and services for systems that must survive man-made and natural radiation environments. He holds bachelors and masters degrees in electrical engineering from San Diego State University and a certificate from the Leadership and Management Program for Scientists from the University of California, San Diego.

Michael W. Sund
Vice President, Communications and Investor Relations
Mike Sund joined Maxwell in March 1999, assuming responsibility for corporate communications and investor relations. Previously, he spent six years in a similar role with Mycogen Corp., an agricultural biotechnology company that was acquired by The Dow Chemical Company in November 1998. Over the previous 20 years he held several media and corporate and agency communications positions and was the principal of his own public relations consulting firm.

Everett E. (Earl) Wiggins III
Vice President of Operations
Earl Wiggins joined Maxwell in August 2006 as Senior Director of Manufacturing and was promoted to his current position in February 2008. Before joining Maxwell, he was Vice President, Continuation Engineering, with Maxtor Corporation, a manufacturer of computer disk drives. Previously he spent 15 years with Quantum Corporation, a manufacturer of computer storage products, where he advanced through a series of senior engineering and management positions, culminating with his appointment as Vice President, Customer and Quality Engineering. He holds a BS degree in electrical engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.
