The symposium attendees, a mix of energy industry experts, discussed the benefits of energy storage, including its ability to transfer and sell electricity across the grid. Energy storage enables voltage and power quality as well as reliability and resiliency. Challenges identified include lack of a "one size fits all" solution and understanding how to best interconnect energy storage to the grid.

Bill to extend California SGIB energy storage subsidy passes committee

Two hundred solar workers rallied this month in support of SB 700, a bill that the California Solar and Storage Association says will help the state meet clean energy goals as well as protect tens of thousands of jobs in residential solar.
