In addition, the 240-volt module is deployed as bridge power for large-scale industrial uninterruptible power supply (UPS) in data centers, hospitals and high-tech manufacturing, and can be customized for 20 kW to multi-megawatt systems. The 240-volt solution streamlines the transition to the backup energy source by bridging the energy gap with several seconds of reliable power. Maxwell’s ultracapacitor solution outperforms most battery technologies for industrial UPS, an application in which lead-acid batteries often suffer from short lifetimes and unexpected failures.
